Gather in Bristo Square at 12:00 to march down to Scottish Parliament by 12:30.

Rally starts: 1:00 pm

Make placards or pick up a picket in Bristo Square!

All members are urged to come along to support the UCU Scotland rally at the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday, 29 January 2025, 12.30pm for a 1pm start. 

UCUE will meet at 12:00 in Bristo Square to pick up placards and march to Holyrood together!

Please bring branch banner; #SaveHE placards will also be available.  It’s vital that we get a decent turnout of members to show the politicians that we care about our universities.

Confirmed speakers include Lib Dem education spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP; Labour education spokesperson Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP; and Scottish Greens education spokesperson Ross Greer MSP; along with representatives from the STUC, NUS Scotland and from branches facing cuts and the possibility of compulsory redundancies.   

Meantime the budget bill will continue to progress through the Parliament. Please email your MSPs, setting out your opposition to job cuts and for fair funding for universities.
